.tell a great story

At a recent conference I attended the key note, a word of mouth expert, spoke about how a good story can help generate buzz. The example that was used was TOMS Shoes. In 2006 an American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. Great story.

Another great story I recently stumbled upon was for Galcos Soda Pop Stop in LA. John Nese the owner tells his story and shares his passion for all things carbonated through this 12 minutes video. It may sound long but I guarantee you that as soon as you hit play the mans charisma and out right obsession with soda pop will keep you hooked until the end. Net result, I want to visit his store and try some strange and wonderful soda experiences and I’m telling anyone sitting close to me about it!
